CD Projekt Red"s Gwent spin-off campaign, Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales, is a month away from launching on PC, and the company has now opened up pre-orders for the title, exclusively available via the GOG store.
The studio also put forth the game"s first teaser trailer, seen above, with Geralt of Rivia making an appearance, but those who prefer to watch some actual gameplay can head over here.
According to the developer, Thronebreaker will be a 30-hour experience spanning regions that haven"t been touched by previous games, such as Lyria, Rivia, Aedirn, Mahakam and Angren. Players will be taking the role of a Nothern Realms queen named Meve whos building an army to face an incoming Nilfgaardian invasion. Also, combat takes place entirely in Gwent rounds.
In usual CD Projekt Red fashion, in the press release, the studio co-founder Marcin Iwiński recommended players to withhold their pre-orders if they would rather wait for reviews. There are no actual pre-order bonuses as well, with him saying that "We don’t want to lure you in with ‘exclusive item’ bullshit."
There are, however, a number of bonus items that will be available free to all owners, such as the game"s official soundtrack, concept art, a digital art book, a graphic novel, and more.
For those interested in going back to the world of The Witcher, Thronebreaker has an October 23 release date on PC, and the GOG store"s pre-order page with a lot more details can be found over here, with the game costing $29.99. The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the title will then release on December 4.
