NETGEAR Inc. showcases its latest line of home networking products at CES, January 8th to the 11th, 2002 in Las Vegas. NETGEAR features its award winning Cable/DSL routers, firewall routers and 802.11b wireless networking products for the home. NETGEAR is also displaying its Powerline technology, which offers users the ability to set up a home network to share a single broadband Internet connection among multiple PCs. With Powerline technology, the Internet connection is available anywhere in the home by plugging into existing 110V electrical outlets, eliminating the need for additional wiring. Additionally, NETGEAR is pleased to announce that the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), annual sponsor of CES, elected Patrick Lo, president and chief executive officer of NETGEAR, as a board member of the Home Networks and Information Technology (HNIT) Division for 2002.
"We are excited to be a part of the CEA Board and to help guide the rapidly growing home networking market," said Patrick Lo, president and chief executive officer of NETGEAR. "The innovative products we are showing at CES demonstrate our commitment to delivering reliable, easy-to-use and affordable networking solutions to provide the best customer experience." Companies including Compaq, Intel, Microsoft, Parks Associates and Radio Shack represent other CEA board members.
"The Home Networks and Information Technology Division has grown by leaps and bounds since its inception in 2000," said Peter Lesser, interim chair of the HNIT division. "The representation of individuals such as NETGEAR"s CEO and President Patrick Lo on the 2002 Division Board adds a great deal of credibility to our work."
