Are you planning on making that long awaited trip to Las Vegas sometime in early January? Are you also connected in some way with the consumer electronics industry? Then you might want to consider signing up to get a pass to attend the 2012 version of the Consumer Electronics Show. The annual trade show-celebration of upcoming electronic gadgets and devices started sign ups for passes today at the official CES web site.
From now until August 31 passes to attend the show will be free. After that date, qualified attendees will have to fork over $100 to attend the show which happens on January 10-13. That price will go up again to $200 on December 30 at 5:01 pm Eastern time until the end of CES 2012 on January 13. The show will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center along with the Hilton and Venetian Hotels. The show"s organizers the Consumer Electronics Association will hold a special CES preview event in New York City for members of the press on November 8. In addition, third party companies not connected directly to CES are expected to hold their own events in Las Vegas during the main event.
Over 140,000 attendees are expected to show up at next year"s CES trade show which should showcase a large number of upcoming consumer electronics products. It"s already been announced that Microsoft"s CEO Steve Ballmer will officially open CES with the annual keynote address. That will happen on the evening of January 9, just before the exhibit doors open the next day.
