Here at CES 2008, we met up with Azentek who showed us two of their four new car pcs that will be available soon. We looked at the double-din Atlas CPC-1200 and the single-din Calypso CPC-1.
Both are feature packed: Intel Core Duo 1.66ghz processor, 120gb Hybrid SATA drive, 1gb DDR2, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950, DVD and CDRW drive, internal GPS receiver with external antenna, bluetooth, 7" (CPC-1100) and 6.5" (CPC-1200) touch screen display, internal 802.11b/g wireless, Sirius/XM and HD radio ready, integrated TV and FM tuners, Dolby Digital 5.1 RCA output, composite video input, Dolby DIgital 7.1 optical output, front inputs (1 USB, 1 SD Card, 1 3.5mm A/V), rear inputs (1 A/V, 2 USB, 1 RS-232, 1 mic), and finally vehicle integration through CANbus.
I found these (to my surprise) to run very smooth. The touch screen worked very well, and they have a custom interface for while on the road. Otherwise, you can access Vista like any normal computer. The MSRP comes in at $2,799 for either, but if you are a computer lover, it may very well be justified with this sleek and powerful Car PC.
