Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, the melee-focused multiplayer title from 2012, is finally getting a sequel, which was announced during the E3 PC Gaming Show today. Check out the announcement gameplay trailer above.
Torn Banner Studios is returning as the developer for Chivalry II while Tripwire Interactive is serving as the publisher this time. The developer says that the sequel will feature massively upgraded graphics, larger battlefields, and 64 player servers will be the standard this time. Combat has been overhauled to be more fluid, and mounted combat is also joining the fray.
Torn Banner Studios president Steve Piggott said the following about the studio"s vision for the title:
“With Chivalry 2 we want to bring to life the grit and powerful emotions of a cinematic medieval battlefield. Learn to master the blade as you lay siege to castles, set fire to villages and slaughter filthy peasants.”
Chivalry II is coming to the Epic Games Store as a timed-exclusive sometime in 2020. It will head to other PC platforms 12 months following this launch.
