Codemasters delays DIRT 5 for consoles and PC by a week

British video game maker Codemasters has announced that it will be pushing back the launch date of its upcoming new game, DIRT 5. The game was originally scheduled for release on October 9, 2020, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via Steam. Now, however, the latest installment in the popular racing franchise has been delayed by a week to October 16, 2020.

Disappointed fans might find some comfort in the fact that the Amplified Edition of the game will be available three days prior to the Launch Edition on October 13. Other benefits of this version include all added content for DIRT 5 such as in-game items, cars, career events, rewards, extra features and more.

News: #DIRT5 will now launch on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on October 16, with three days’ early access (Oct 13) for Amplified Edition players.

Apart from announcing the delay, Codemasters has also reaffirmed that DIRT 5 will be arriving on the next generation of consoles as well. Fortunately, those who purchase the title for current-gen platforms will receive free upgrades to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X variants.

The upcoming new title from Codemasters" is set to arrive on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam at first, eventually making its way to the PS5, Xbox Series X and Google Stadia. Pre-orders for the game are currently open and can be made through the official DIRT 5 website.
