Fresh from revealing the upcoming release of its streaming service to Apple devices, Comcast disclosed today another expansion of Peacock"s availability. The company announced that the service will come to Microsoft’s Xbox One family of devices on July 15 when it rolls out nationwide.
Peacock will be available on Xbox One S and Xbox One X with free access to more than 7,500 hours of movies and shows. It will be available for download via the Microsoft Store. The ad-supported streaming service was previewed for Xfinity X1 and Flex customers last month, and today"s announcement marks a further growth for Peacock.
Maggie McLean Suniewick, President for Business Development and Partnerships at Peacock, said:
“We are pleased to make Peacock available to the millions of customers who access content across Xbox platforms. With streaming entertainment and gaming reaching all-time highs, Xbox will be a great ongoing partner for Peacock.”
On top of the free tier, Peacock also offers premium content for $4.99 per month with access to 15,000 hours of movies and shows. If you want to remove ads, there"s an option to shell out an additional $5 per month to watch uninterrupted content.
The service will feature content highlights from programs such as TODAY, NBC Nightly News, Meet the Press, Noticias Telemundo, E! News and Access Hollywood. There"s also a plethora of programs from MSNBC, CNBC, and NBC Sports.
