Cortana potentially coming to the UK in less than two weeks

@petestensones @WindowsPhoneUK Barring an unforeseen issue, down to less than 2 weeks for the developer preview.

For those in the UK, the wait is almost finally over - Cortana is coming. This is according to Marcus Ash, Group Program Manager for Cortana on Windows Phone. The tweet went out earlier this morning and looks like Cortana will make its appearance in the UK within the next two weeks.

If unfamiliar, Cortana is an intelligent personal assistant. Cortana can understand simple commands, but can also perform more complex things, like answering questions and giving "personal" recommendations. The more it knows about you, the better it can function.

For those in the United States, Cortana has been available for a little over three months with the release of Windows Phone 8.1 Preview for Developers. Since that time, there have also been a couple of handsets that have been released, that natively come preloaded with Windows Phone 8.1 with Cortana. For those who have not loaded the preview or do not own one of these newer handsets, Microsoft has officially released the Windows Phone 8.1 update for Lumia devices.

If there aren"t any unforeseen issues, the U.K. should be able to experience Cortana very soon. As usual we will keep you updated with any new information that might arrive before its release.
