If you"re looking for a new Windows phone but you don"t want to spend a lot of money, Cricket Wireless has a deal that will be hard to pass up. You can now grab a Microsoft Lumia 640 from the carrier for just $9.99.
The handset includes a 5-inch 720p IPS LCD, 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal storage (expandable to 256GB), an 8MP rear camera that records 1080p video, and a 1MP front camera that records 720p. It ships with Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2, but it"s eligible for an upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile.
This is more than can be said of the other Windows phone that Cricket offers, the Nokia Lumia 635, which costs $10 more at $19.99. With only 512MB RAM, the Lumia 635 will be stuck on Windows Phone 8.1 forever, and that goes along with a 4.5-inch 480p display, a 5MP rear camera, and no front camera.
In fact, the almost three-year-old Lumia 635 was all that the AT&T-owned carrier was offering for the last few weeks, since it removed listings for the Lumia 640 and 650. The listing that appeared for the 640 today seems to be all-new though, as it shows zero reviews for the product.
You can find the Lumia 640 on Cricket"s website here, but you should probably act quickly, as stock always seems to be limited.
