At E3 2014, Microsoft showed off an upcoming indie title, named Cuphead. The game built up some buzz as a pseudo Disney-looking run-and-gun game that has the main character, Cuphead, fulfilling a debt that is owed to the devil through killing bosses. The 1930’s-looking indie featured an RPG leveling system and is said to have continuous boss battles throughout the stages of the game.
However, no firm release date was announced for Cuphead, until now.
At its E3 2017 press briefing, Microsoft has finally announced that Cuphead will be making its way to Windows 10 and Xbox One gamers this September. The company also showed off another short 47-second clip of the game as well, which can be seen below:
The new trailer once again shows off colorful retro cartoonish graphics, that originally hyped up anticipation for the game. Some gameplay was shown off as well. A brief description of Cuphead can be seen below:
Cuphead is a classic run and gun action game heavily focused on boss battles. Inspired by cartoons of the 1930s, the visuals and audio are painstakingly created with the same techniques of the era, i.e. traditional hand drawn cel animation, watercolor backgrounds, and original jazz recordings.
Cuphead will be making its way to Xbox One and Windows 10 gamers on September 29, 2017.
