Cyberpunk 2077 delayed to November 19, Night City Wire to still take place on June 25

Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt RED"s upcoming open-world RPG title, has now been delayed yet again, this time to the second half of November.

In a tweet sent via the game"s official Twitter account, the developer had this to say:

Initially announced to have an April 16, 2020 release date during Microsoft"s E3 2019 conference, the game was pushed back to September 17 for polishing, and now has a new release date of November 19, 2020.

It"s being emphasized that content-wise the game is done - having been in fact already rated in multiple places -, but that due to all of the interconnected systems, more time to iron out bugs is necessary. Media access is being given to the game this week, with previews and opinions in regards to the game being published immediately following the developer"s Night City Wire digital event set to take place June 25.

The new release date puts the title firmly into the launch window of the ninth generation of consoles, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. With Cyberpunk 2077 still being listed to be coming to the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC - Xbox One owners getting a free Series X upgrade via Smart Delivery -, it begs the question whether next-generation variants of the CDPR RPG will be available alongside the current-gen and PC ones at launch.
