The big news of the day is the release date announcement for the Nintendo 3DS, the hardware will be launched in March across America and Europe. Nintendo 3DS gets its release date
As expected, today saw the release date for the Nintendo 3DS announced in America and Europe. The 3DS will launch on March 25 in Europe and a couple of days later on March 27 in America. Todays announcement also saw the company detail a deal with Sky and Eurosport to supply some 3D content on the 3DS hardware. Great news for those who would like to see some sport in 3D once the device is released. The pricing is set at $250 in America, while UK has the rather expensive markup of £230. Ubisoft announce their 3DS lineup
Ubisoft announced their upcoming 3DS lineup, including titles such as Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon and Rayman 3D. All of the titles will make use of Stereoscopic 3D, while some will also work with other new features of the Nintendo 3DS like StreetPass. The full list of games due out in the first half of the year are below:
Asphalt™ 3D: Developed by Gameloft and published by Ubisoft, Asphalt 3D brings all the excitement and speed of the Asphalt franchise to stereoscopic 3D, featuring more than 40 licensed vehicles, 17 exotic track locations and complete StreetPass™ functionality.
Combat of GiantsTM Dinosaurs 3D: This 3D take on the popular kids’ franchise mixes exploration and customization with real-time combats. Players ages 7 to 10-years old will be immersed into a cataclysmic universe and live the ultimate 3D fighting experience.
Driver® Renegade: The first and exclusive action driving game on the Nintendo 3DS that lets the player experience the intensity and brutality of urban car chases in 3D. Players will embody the Driver series hero John Tanner and use the accelerometer to unleash their urban driving skills.
James Noir’s Hollywood CrimesTM: A brand new intellectual property developed exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS, James Noir’s Hollywood Crimes makes the player the main character in a mind-twisting puzzle adventure taking place in an interactive 3D world, with 150 puzzles and mind games to solve.
Rabbids® Travel in Time: Rabbids are bwaaaaaack and this time they have an infallible plan to invade the human world: conquer history in their first platform adventure developed exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS.

Assassin"s Creed Brotherhood: Animus Project Update 2.0 released
Ubisoft announced today that the Animus Project Update 2.0 downloadable content for Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood has been released for free on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. As with the first update, 2.0 brings in a new game mode called Chest Capture and a new Pienza map. This is likely to be the final free update for the game, even though no new DLC has been announced so far. More details on the new Chest Capture multiplayer mode are below:
In the new Chest Capture Multiplayer Mode, two teams, comprised of three players each, partner with fellow Templars to either defend or capture Chests. The “Capturers” must use their HUDs to locate and capture the chests, while “Defenders” must use their skills and quick reflexes to track down their foes and protect the chests.

IL-2 STURMOVIK: Cliffs of Dover Announced
Ubisoft has announced the next in series of IL-2 STURMOVIK games, IL-2 STURMOVIK: Cliffs of Dover. The game takes place during the 1940s as you battle for the skies over Britain in missions between the British, the German and the Italian air forces.
