Daily Windows 10 Insider builds? Not so fast

The last couple of days we’ve been reporting on Microsoft’s efforts to push out faster builds to the Windows Insider program, a feat many fans have been asking for. And yesterday, the team announced it would start pushing daily builds to insiders.

Just hours after we reported that the Windows team would be taking concrete steps to ramp up the number of builds being pushed to testers, a post on the Insider Hub showed up. It promised that those in the Fast Ring would start receiving daily builds to test and that those not ready for such a pace would do well to move to the Slow ring.

@cdorf17 @johncarr1989 @windowscentral @thurrott Sorry for confusion. This is an internal announcement that was mismarked and went external.

At first glance, this is almost too good to be true – it’s everything the insiders were asking for and more. On second glance, it really was too good to be true. Not long after the post went live, Gabriel Aul took to Twitter to explain that this was, in fact, an internal document aimed at the team and shouldn’t have been made public.

Interestingly enough though, the post mentioned that the new faster schedule would be applied to those on the winmain and fbl_impressive branches. That’s still good news for Insiders as a much faster update and testing schedule inside the company should eventually translate to a much faster rollout to external testers.

Hopefully, we’ll know more about Microsoft’s plans soon.
