For quite some time, Tesla has been teasing its electric truck and was prepared to reveal the vehicle at an event on October 26. However, the firm decided to delay the event due to it wanting to channel more of its resources to fix production issues with the Model 3 and also increase battery production for Puerto Rico. Now, Daimler AG has stepped up to the plate instead, debuting its own battery-powered truck being dubbed the E-Fuso Vision One.
The truck is a prototype that can carry 11 tons of cargo and can travel up to 220 miles on a single charge. While this is certainly a huge moment for the company, don"t expect the truck to be traveling alongside you on your commute, as the firm has revealed that it will officially go on sale within the next four years and be made available in the United States, Japan, and Europe.
While this is all certainly impressive, it will be interesting to see whether Tesla will be able to top this announcement with its own semi which is scheduled to be revealed on November 16.
