Microsoft revealed a brand new design for its iOS back in September of last year during Ignite, along with the promise of a dark mode soon after its release. The redesign made its way to users in December, dark mode is still nowhere to be seen. Now, though, we have an idea of what it will look like, thanks to a set of leaked renders from the Android app.
The images show off the dark mode in the mail, calendar, and search sections of the app, and it looks pretty much as you would expect. Windows Central"s Zac Bowden confirms the legitimacy of the renders, and though they are from the Android version of the app, the report states that the look will be similar in the iOS version. On Android, it seems that there will be an option to let the app switch to dark mode when battery saver mode kicks in.
Dark mode has slowly made its way to the Outlook apps on most other platforms, including the Windows 10 Mail and Calendar apps, the full Win32 app, macOS, and most recently, the web version. The mobile platforms will be the last to get the dark look. It remains to be seen, however, when that will actually happen, seeing as there"s been no official announcement on Microsoft"s part.
