DayZ coming to consoles in 2018

For the moment, PlayerUnknown"s Battlegrounds (PUBG) is the go-to game for most when looking for something fun, light, and requiring a little bit of skill. But nearly a decade ago, it was DayZ that had folks in a tizzy. The game originally started off as a mod for ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead but the creators would later announce that they would create a standalone title.

While the game has been in the Steam Early Access program for the past four years, it has yet to make its official debut. Luckily, the developer has announced that the game will finally be leaving the program in 2018, alongside a release for consoles. It is unknown at what point in 2018 the game will arrive to consoles, but the team is confident that if all goes well with the PC version, delivery of a console version of the game will be in the cards.

Although this might be exciting news to some, one has to question whether DayZ is still relevant to this day. The developer has envisioned a game that evolves over time and something that is never really complete, so maybe this will be its saving grace, offering future expansions that evolve with what is currently popular.
