Deezer launches beta app for Windows 10 PCs and phones

Back in December, popular music streaming service Deezer announced plans to launch a Universal Windows App. Today, Deezer launched an open beta of its new app for Windows 10 PCs and phones, giving users "instant access to the world"s largest music catalogue of 40 million tracks as well as 40,000 podcasts, news and entertainment."

One of Deezer"s key features is "Flow", which it describes as its "signature intuitive music recommendation tool". The company said today that "personalized music recommendations sit at the heart of what we do", and that it"s been working closely with Microsoft in recent months to create a greatly improved offering for Windows users, "combining the human touch with the best of technology."

Previously, the Deezer experience on Windows was different across phones and PCs, as well as on the web. The new Deezer Music Preview app features a streamlined and "ergonomic" layout, promising a consistent feature set across all Windows 10 devices. Indeed, this is a key advantage of the Universal Windows Platform, which allows companies to develop a single app that can run on multiple types of devices with only minimal changes.

The app"s design fits in with the look and feel of Windows 10 and features a unified navigation bar to allow users to easily jump from the Home screen view to their music collection, notifications, search, and the player itself.

Deezer Music Preview supports both Premium+ and freemium users, and is available to download now from the Windows Store.
