Dell announces the Latitude 3190 and 3190 2-in-1 for education

Today, Dell announced the Latitude 3190 and Latitude 3190 2-in-1 Education models at ISTE 2018. The 11-inch laptop and convertible are built to be "kid-tough", meaning that they can withstand 12oz spills, and they"re durable with the ability to withstand a 30-inch drop on steel.

Dell is also promising 15 hours of battery life on the laptop, and 12 hours on the convertible. That means that students will be able to get through the school day without needing to charge the device.

As far as specs go, they both offer quad-core Intel Celeron and Pentium options, along with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB SSD. The 11.6-inch LCD has a 1366x768 resolution, but it only supports touch on the convertible. In fact, the Latitude 3190 2-in-1 even has pen support.

As far as ports go, there are two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, HDMI, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a Noble Wedge Lock slot.

Perhaps the price is the most interesting thing. Available globally on August 2, the Dell Latitude 3190 Education will start at $239, while the Latitude 3190 2-in-1 Education will start at $299.
