Dell introduces new premium Latitude 9000 series, packing Qualcomm 5G in the 9510

Ahead of CES today, Dell announced the Latitude 9510 and Latitude 9510 2-in-1 as part of a broader announcement of a new 9000 tier. Previously, the Latitude business PC lineup only went up to the 7000 series, so this is meant to be "ultra-premium".

The big story around the Latitude 9510 is that it"s one of the first 5G PCs with an Intel CPU. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 modem though, which is a big win for Qualcomm. Intel announced in November that its 5G PCs would be coming with MediaTek modems, but those won"t be available until 2021. For now, Intel-powered 5G PCs will all have to use Qualcomm modems. 5G will be sub-6 GHz only on this device.

Dell is also promising 30 hours of battery life, which is an ambitious claim. It"s also promising on-board AI that will improve performance, battery life, and more.

It packs a 15-inch 16:9 InfinityEdge display, oddly only offered with 1080p resolution. As far as internals go, you"ll get Intel"s 10th-generation "Comet Lake" processors, with vPro on the way whenever they"re available. It weighs in at just 3.2 pounds, with Dell promising that it"s the lightest 15-inch business convertible.

The Dell Latitude 9510 will be available on March 26, starting at $1,799.
