Dell"s Latitude 5400 is a business laptop that seems to aim to do everything. It"s aimed at the mainstream, packing the key features that are necessary. For example, it weighs in at 3.26 pounds, so it"s not the lightest on the market, but it is lighter than its predecessors.
It also has slimmer bezels, particularly on the sides. On the top bezel, there"s still room for an IR camera next to the webcam, along with a privacy guard. It also has plenty of ports, including Thunderbolt 3, a nice thing to have at the mainstream price point. It also has three USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports.
Despite the fact that it"s not as thin or light as some of the premium notebooks that I often review, I"m really enjoying the Latitude 5400 thus far. The performance is great with the Core i5-8365U, which is the Whiskey Lake vPro model. It supports fast charging with the 90W charger that Dell sent over, even if it"s a barrel charger. Luckily, it does support USB Type-C charging.
