Microsoft announced today that a number of PC makers have launched pre-orders for their upcoming Windows 8 PCs. One of them was Dell and today the company revealed that several of its upcoming PCs can now be ordered for shipment on the Windows 8 launch date of October 26th.
One of them is the unique looking XPS 12, the notebook-tablet hybrid that has a swiveling screen. Today, the official Dell blog announced that the 12 inch hybrid is now available for pre-order for a starting price of $1,119. Dell also announced that the touch screen-based 27 inch XPS One 27 all-in-one PC is also available for pre-order with a starting price of $1,599.99.
Dell also revealed that its budget-based all-in-one PC, the Inspiron One 23, is available for pre-order starting with a price of $779.99. Dell has already set up its website for people to order these and other Windows 8 PCs. The blog added, "This is just the start and you’ll be hearing a lot more details on additional consumer products as well as our redesigned Latitude and OptiPlex PCs in the coming days and weeks."
One product that is coming from Dell is not available for pre-order yet is the XPS 10 tablet, which is based on Windows RT. Dell has yet to comment on pricing or a release date for the tablet.
