Dell refreshes Alienware Aurora and XPS Desktop with 11th-gen processors

Alienware Aurora

Today, Dell is announcing a couple of product refreshes, particularly for its Alienware Aurora gaming desktop PC and its XPS Desktop. Both of them are now available with Intel"s newly-announced 11th-generation processors, called Rocket Lake-S.

There"s quite a lot that"s new with the 14nm processors, including a new core architecture and faster integrated graphics, although either of these products should be shipping with dedicated GPUs. Right off the top, Rocket Lake-S promises a 19% boost in instructions per clock cycle. The processor also supports PCIe 4.0, faster DDR4-3200 memory, and more, although Dell didn"t specify if it"s including these things in the Alienware Aurora R12 or the XPS Desktop.

Both of them are available with up to the Core i9-11900K, which has eight cores, a 3.5GHz base clock speed, and a 5.3GHz boost clock speed. Naturally, you can have either one configured with Nvidia"s GeForce RTX 3000 graphics as well, along with the other usual configuration options that either PC comes with.

The new configurations for both the Alienware Aurora R12 and the XPS Desktop are available for purchase now.
