Dell unveils new XPS 13 with 7th-gen Intel Core processors and 22 hours of battery life

We"ve been fans of Dell"s XPS 13 for quite a while, and its stylish design - featuring an ultra-thin bezel that pushes the display almost to the edge of the devices - has made it a popular choice among buyers of Windows 10 notebooks.

Dell is now bringing the XPS 13 up to date with refreshed specs, and a new color option.

The most significant improvement is the addition of Intel"s new 7th-generation ("Kaby Lake") Core processors. The device will be offered in various configurations, with up to Core i7 CPUs.

The "virtually borderless" 13.3-inch InfinityEdge display is here to stay too, available with either Full HD or Quad HD+ resolutions. With increased battery capacity, Dell claims that the Full HD model will last for up to 22 hours, while the higher-resolution version will work for up to 13 hours before you need to plug it in.

Dell says the device is "constructed with machined aluminum, carbon fiber and Corning Gorilla Glass for incredible durability and stunning design". It"s 9mm thick at its thinnest point, increasing to 15mm thickness at the slightly chunkier end.

The new Rose Gold color option will be available in two configurations:

  • Intel 7th Generation Core i5; 8GB memory; 256GB SSD; 13.3-inch FHD

  • Intel 7th Generation Core i7; 8GB memory; 256GB SSD; 13.3-inch QHD+ with Touch

The new XPS 13 will go on sale in the US on October 4, priced from $799.
