Back in May, Dell announced its new XPS 13 2-in-1, and it"s the first PC to use Intel"s new 10th-generation "Ice Lake" processors. If you"re unfamiliar with the Ice Lake family, it"s Intel"s first set of CPUs built on a 10nm process, something that the company has been pushing back for a few years now.
But it"s finally here, and the model that Dell sent me includes a Core i7-1065G7, which has Iris Plus graphics. If you go for a Core i5, you"ll get an i5-1035G1, the one that has UHD graphics, as opposed to the Core i5-1035G4 and the Core i5-1035G7. I"ve been using the XPS 13 2-in-1 for a few days now, and the difference in graphics performance is notable.
Another thing that"s interesting is that it included the second-generation MagLev keyboard. The first generation was in the XPS 15 2-in-1, and I did not like it. This one seems much better; the keys are sturdier and more comfortable.
Of course, you get all of the other perks of a Dell XPS laptop, including an InfinityEdge display. That means that it has narrow bezels, and you get a 13-inch laptop in the chassis of a 12-inch laptop. It has a shrunken down webcam in the top bezel, something that Dell hadn"t mastered until this year.
