Microsoft"s partners had a focus on Windows Mixed Reality at IFA this year, with many of them announcing their head-mounted displays. This included Dell, which unveiled the Visor. Microsoft later confirmed that it will ship on October 17, but Dell has opened up pre-orders for the HMD today.
The specs are the same as the rest of the Windows Mixed Reality HMDs, with two 1440x1440 displays, a 110-degree field of view, inside-out tracking, and up to a 90Hz refresh rate. Of course, that refresh rate drops to 60Hz if it"s connected to a PC with integrated graphics.
You can pre-order the Visor for $349.99 as a standalone device, and you can get the Motion Controllers for $99.99. There"s a bundle as well, but you won"t save any money by choosing that option, as it comes in at $449.98. Standard shipping is free, and all of the options ship on October 17. You can find it on Dell.com here.
Of course, keep in mind the Acer and HP have developer kits out already, so they"ll also be launching their headsets on the 17th, just in case you want to shop around.
