Destiny 2's new update brings 4K and HDR support to PS4 Pro and Xbox One X

It was towards the beginning of the year when Destiny 2 was initially teased. Fast forward to December and Bungie is releasing its first expansion, Curse of Osiris. While it made its debut today, the developer also issued an update, 1.1.0, that brings improvements to the core game, its classes, and also includes some fixes.

While the list is massive and a good read, there is a bit in there that console gamers will likely find interesting. According to the update, Bungie has now updated the game to support 4K resolution and high dynamic range (HDR).

4K and HDR Support

  • Upgraded resolution to adaptive 4K with high dynamic range on the PlayStation 4 Pro
  • Upgraded resolution to 4K with high dynamic range on the Xbox One X

As you can see in the quote that is pulled from the general section, it states that the PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X will now support upgraded 4K resolutions with high dynamic range (HDR). An interesting point of note is that the Xbox One X seems may enjoy native 4K while the PlayStation 4 Pro is noted as having "adaptive 4K".
