Details and photos of ZTE's rumored smartwatch emerge online

Last month, rumors of a ZTE smartwatch surfaced online with little accompanying details. It was purported that the wearable would sport different colors of watch bands, and wireless cellular hardware. Now, a new report has leaked online which reveals more details about the device.

Citing an unnamed source, Android Police has detailed that ZTE"s smartwatch is named "Quartz". The device features a metallic exterior, with a carbon fiber watch band. Tick marks are present on the bezel, but the crown seems to not be rotatable, unlike the Samsung Gear S3. There appears to be a small button on the side, and a four-pin slot to charge the wearable as well.

The Quartz may disappoint some in terms of features. According to the report, there appears to be no heart rate monitor, and the device does not sport NFC capabilities either. Apart from this, the wearable features only 3G connectivity with no support for LTE.

The Quartz is currently running on the Android Wear 2.0 platform. From the rather basic feature set, it appears that the company aims to offer a no-frills and simplistic option to customers. That said, pricing and availability details are not known as of yet. Seeing that there has been no official confirmation from ZTE, you should take this news with a grain of salt.
