Just last week Acer and Microsoft announced their partnership to create Windows Phone 7 devices and at the Computex event earlier today, it appears that they"ve been working together for some time. On display was Acer"s W4 phone which will be running under Mango, Window Phone 7"s next major update.

The phone which has yet to have an availability date is Acer"s first phone in the Windows Phone 7 market. Equipped with various features which are mentioned below, the phone contains a high-pass MSN8255 processor clocked at 1GHz and 8GB of storage. With Mango potentially coming by September, we"re expecting to see a new range of phones built for the platform, the Acer W4 being just one of the nine expected to be announced soon.

As previously reported on Neowin, Mango is meant to contain a lot of new features that users have been waiting for since it launched in October last year. This includes but not limiting to Internet Explorer 9, multiple calendars and more deep integration with social networks. Indeed Steve Ballmer the CEO of Microsoft, let it slip that the update will contain over 500 new features.
