Deus Ex Human Revolution PC to have Steamworks support

It appears that the folks behind Deus Ex Human Revolution are serious about making the PC version of the cyberpunk themed RPG more than just a simple port. Today publisher Square Enix announced that the PC version would have full Steamworks features. That mean PC gamers can look forward to features such as auto-updating via Valve"s Steam client, achievements and save games stored in the Steam Cloud service.

In addition to Steamworks, PC gamers who want to download the game via Steam can choose between the regular edition and the Augmented Edition which will have some extra content. It will include a 40 page digital art book, trailers, behind-the-scenes features, the game"s soundtrack, a motion comic and best of all a free copy of the original Deus Ex Game of the Year Edition. At the moment the Steam web site does not have the Augmented Edition available for pre-order.

The PC port is being handled by Nixxes Software and earlier this week the game"s PC system requirements were revealed. The developer also confirmed that it will support DirectX 11 graphics features such as tessellation for improving the looks of the game"s  character models. It will also support AMD"s Eyefinity multi-monitor features. You can also check out a new video where some of the game"s development team talks about making the PC version"s user interface. PC Gamer also has some hands-on impressions from playing a build of the PC version. Deus Ex Human Revolution is currently due for release on August 23.
