Instagram has been one of the most-desired apps for Windows Phone, but so far Facebook, the social network"s owner, hasn"t announced any plans for a Windows Phone app. Several third-party Instagram apps have been released, however, and now one of the most notable Windows Phone app developers plans on releasing his own.
Rudy Huyn, best known for his Wikipedia app for Windows Phone that won Microsoft"s Next App Star contest, has announced the development of an Instagram app. The app will include photo and video uploads, lenses, mapping support, and automatic sharing to other social networks – inclusions that Huyn says makes it the most feature-filled client on Windows Phone. Huyn"s taken to his Twitter account to keep fans posted of his progress, saying he plans to release the app in "less than two weeks."
Several photos and videos from the new app have already been uploaded to Huyn"s personal Instagram account, and automatically sharing links to Twitter and Facebook have been implemented as well. Huyn said he plans on releasing a free version of the app for photo uploads, though a paid version will be necessary for video uploads to pay for sever fees.
Huyn originally planned to name the app "6gram," after his Vine app called "6sec," though after discovering photos of marijuana tagged with the proposed name he joked that he may need a new moniker.
ok, I understand now why 6gram isn"t a good name https://t.co/Fw9IUg8s3s cc @BenThePCGuy

The app will be launched for Windows Phone 8 first, though Huyn said he plans on releasing Windows Phone 7 and Windows 8 versions of both the Instagram app and 6sec in the coming months.
