Dillo-Win32 is a fast and extremely lightweight graphical web browser for Windows, OS X, and Unix systems. It is based on Dillo, but offers greater portability, a saner codebase, an improved user interface, and more features compared to the mainline browser. Dillo-Win32 is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0.
While Dillo-Win32 was originally just an attempt to port Dillo to Microsoft Windows, it has since expanded far beyond its original scope. Despite the name, most of Dillo-Win32’s features are not platform-specific; we have kept the name only for historical reasons. Dillo-Win32 has been under active development since August 2010.
Aa minimalistic web browser particularly intended for older or slower computers and embedded systems.
Dillo-Win32’s most important features include:
- Support for Microsoft Windows 95, Windows NT 4.0 and newer
- Sane, user-friendly default settings
- A simple built-in downloader
- Improved cookies support (Dillo-Win32 never writes cookies to disk)
- Improved bookmarks interface
- A preferences dialog (in 2011, this should not be a special “feature”!)
- Basic printing support
- Various other bugfixes, tweaks, and improvements.
