DIRT 5 coming to current-gen consoles and PC on October 9

About one month ago, Codemasters introduced the latest installment in its popular racing series during the May episode of Inside Xbox. At the time, the video game maker announced that the game - titled DIRT 5 - would be coming to next-gen consoles in addition to current-gen consoles and PC. A launch window of October 2020 was also disclosed.

Today the developer and publisher unveiled an exact launch date for the off-road racing title. DIRT 5 will be coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via Steam on October 9, 2020. A new trailer for the upcoming game has also been revealed, as seen below.

Along with the release date, Codemasters also revealed more information about the game, stating that DIRT 5 has the "franchise’s biggest Career mode to date, with 130 events, five chapters, nine event types, real-world sponsors, optional objectives, choice-driven progression and so much more". Pre-orders for DIRT 5 on the Xbox One and PC via Steam are now live. As for the PS4 version, digital pre-orders are not open whereas physical copies can be pre-purchased from Amazon. The launch date for next-gen consoles is still pending, but Codemasters has promised that it will happen shortly after the current-gen release. Finally, the game has also been announced for Google Stadia, slated for release in early 2021.
