Discuss: One week on, what do you think of Windows 10 Insider Preview build 10122?

Last week, Gabe Aul, head of Microsoft"s Windows Insiders program, approached the massive (and growing) community of people around the world who have been testing Windows 10 in recent weeks, with an important question. Microsoft had a "GREAT build" more or less ready to go, he said, but they were "seeing frequent crashes" in the Edge browser on PCs with AMD graphics cards - so should the company release it, or wait until the issue was fixed?

The response from the community was overwhelmingly in favor of an immediate release, and Aul soon confirmed that Microsoft would go ahead with pushing the new build out. Just a few hours later, Windows 10 Insider Preview build 10122 began rolling out to users around the world.

Build 10122 introduced a range of improvements and new features, including enhancements to the Start menu and Tablet Mode, additions to the Edge browser, and a redesigned Insider Hub.

But inevitably, given that this is pre-release software that"s still in development, the new build also came with various known issues, including the documented problem of Edge stability issues with AMD GPUs.

Many users also experienced problems simply trying to upgrade to build 10122 - indeed Aul later revealed that around 1.2% of installations were failing at the 18% mark, and posted a workaround to help users to deal with this issue. However, it seems that this workaround didn"t quite solve the problem for everyone.

@gcaweir yeah, still gives the error, hoping they release a slow ring with it 100% fixed in the next week or two.

One week on from its release, we"d love to hear how you"re getting on (or not...) with the latest Windows 10 preview.

Did you experience problems with upgrading - and if so, did the workaround fix it? If you managed to install 10122, what"s your experience been like so far? Is the new build more stable than earlier releases, or have you encountered more bugs than before? And with this latest build, what do you think of Microsoft"s progress so far in developing Windows 10 ahead of its launch in the coming months?

Be sure to share your experiences and opinions of the new build with us in the comments below, and if you"re not yet signed up to Neowin, you can register here - it"s quick and easy, and you"ll also be able to join in discussions on our community forums!
