Last week, Microsoft rolled out Windows 10 Insider Preview build 16199 to PCs in the Fast ring, along with Windows 10 Mobile build 15215. There haven"t been any new previews this week, and Insiders will have to wait at least a few more days until the next builds arrive.
Windows Insider Program chief Dona Sarkar tweeted yesterday that a "blocking bug" was preventing the release of new builds. In a further tweet a few hours later, she confirmed that no builds will be released this week:
As Dona pointed out, many on the Windows Insider team are planning to take time off work this Friday, ahead of the Memorial Day weekend in the United States, which commemorates those who died serving in the nation"s armed forces. Memorial Day itself is a national public holiday, taking place on Monday, May 29, so it"s extremely unlikely that Microsoft would choose to roll out a build on that day, especially with so many of its staff still out of the office.
That means that the next Windows 10 Insider Preview won"t arrive until Tuesday, at the earliest - and the wait could be even longer, depending on Microsoft"s success in dealing with the recent blocking bug, and the findings of its data analysis as it prepares for the next build rollout.
