Don't have a high-end PC but want to play AC Odyssey? Google may let you stream it in Chrome

As household names in the gaming world like Nvidia and Microsoft grapple with making high-quality game streaming accessible, it seems Google has also decided to throw its hat in the ring. The company today announced Project Stream, its take on making game streaming with only your browser a reality.

In partnership with Ubisoft, the search giant is planning on bringing Assassin"s Creed Odyssey to your home via the Chrome browser. The technology, rather unimaginatively dubbed Project Stream, is only a technical test at this point, and will likely not be commercially available for a while.

The company is, however, going to allow a select few to partake in its testing and will allow them to play the game, starting October 5, for free in their browser at 1080p, 60fps. You will need to be a 17-years or older resident of the US, ideally with a 25 megabits per second connection to qualify, though. If you fit the bill, you can go ahead and register for the chance to be part of the test here.

The company also included a sample of what its technology is currently capable of doing with a three and a half minute video sample of AC Odyssey playing on a browser via Project Stream, shown above.

It would seem that Palo Alto giant"s mysterious "Yeti" has finally been spotted. The only thing that"s remaining is the Google-made gaming console that it is supposed to come with.
