Doom to get Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro 4K enhancements tomorrow

The 2016 Doom reboot by id Software was one of the most popular shooters of that year, and soon, Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro owners will join PC players in being able to experience the carnage in 4K resolution.

The new 4K support for the two consoles is slated to arrive tomorrow, March 29, as a free game update, with Bethesda community manager Jason Leavey adding in the announcement:

Every blast of the BFG, every demon glory kill and every chainsaw slice through a Mancubus can be experienced like never before on consoles. Whether you’re a new player or just eager to jump back into your Praetor Suit, you’re going to want to visit Hell to experience it for yourself.

The company did not go into detail on the implementation, so It"s unclear if both consoles will be offering native 4K support and if we will see any changes to the FPS. Nevertheless, it will surely be an improved gameplay experience over the regular consoles.

Don"t forget that Bethesda will be at this year"s E3 with its own conference for the fourth year running, and a Doom sequel announcement may be in the cards for the publisher.
