Dropbox is currently offering an extra 1GB of space to Facebook and Twitter users.
Dropbox is a web-based cloud storage system. The client works on Windows, Mac, Linux, iPhone and iPad devices and allows users to store and synchronise data across multiple devices. Dropbox gives users 2GB of free cloud storage space, with extra space available for a fee. Users can also gain up to 8GB of additional free space by referring other people to the service. When you load Dropbox onto a computer or mobile device, the data you put in it will be synced across all locations, in addition to the Dropbox servers. This makes it an ideal solution for backing up important data, and keeping yourself organized across multiple locations. Should a user accidentally delete or overwrite a file, it can still be retrieved within 30 days via the Dropbox website.
Theoretically, users can now obtain up to 11GB of storage at no cost. Dropbox also offers a number of paid for options including 50GB for $9.99 a month or 100GB for $19.99 a month. To sign-up for the extra 1GB of space users simply need to link their Twitter and Facebook accounts to Dropbox. Facebook and Twitter users then need to send a message recommending Dropbox and their accounts will be updated with the extra space.
