This year has been a fairly exciting one for smartphone enthusiasts. Rather than getting the usual fare of handsets with expected specifications, there have been companies like Samsung, LG, and Essential that have delivered something different. As we await the rest of the usual players to announce their handsets, it appears that Meizu is prepping something different with its unannounced Pro 7.
For the past couple of weeks, the internet has been seeing bits and pieces of this handset, which apparently will have a secondary display on the rear. While you probably won"t be too impressed considering YotaPhone has been pioneering this design for the past few years, the Meizu does it a little differently.
While it was unclear whether the firm would go with an e-ink display, a new image that has popped up online looks to show the Pro 7 relying on a full-color LCD unit. Although it does look interesting, one has to think what kind of effect this may have on the phone"s battery life. Furthermore, it will be intriguing to see what kind of functionality will be available and how the firm will implement its own twist on having more screen real estate.
As for the rest of the rumored specifications, the Pro 7 will offer:
- 5.2-inch AMOLED screen with 3D touch capabilities
- MediaTek Helio X30
- 6GB RAM
- Dual 12MP camera sensor with 16MP front-facing camera
- 3.5mm headphone jack
Luckily, we probably won"t have to wait long to find out what Meizu has in store, as the firm will hold an event on July 26, when it will most likely announce the Pro 7 and its details.
