Supply Chain Management is one service that belongs to the third category, receiving key enhancements surrounding supply/demand and manufacturing. For one, production visibility can be improved through prediction of demand shifts and supply constraints, by removing siloed Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). Similarly, the planning optimization engine has been improved by adding a priority-based capability that helps to eliminate zero-stock events. It does this by prioritizing item restocking in real time on the basis of various factors such as current stock levels and projected inventory.
Customer Service voice channel is now available as well; the service brings Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS), Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) and Customer Engagement Center (CEC) in the form of a unified solution that utilizes the power of Microsoft Teams. The two services which are entering a public preview stage, meanwhile, include Connected Spaces and Supply Chain Insights.
The former provides a unique perspective on the various interactions being undertaken across different floors of an enterprise, from the retail store to the factory floor, through predictive insights driven by low-code capabilities. The latter helps put a stop to supply chain disruptions by providing both upstream and downstream insights that can later be automated through execution systems already in place.
