E3 2002: PS2 Software Price Cut?

Cheers MikePWV for sending this info in.

Following last week"s cut in the price of PlayStation 2 hardware, SCEA has cut the recommended price of PlayStation 2 software from $49 to $39, the Financial Times reported today. If the cut is confirmed by Sony, and retailers and third parties follow suit, the news will be a boon to gamers and a blow to competitors, whose games will be undercut as well as outnumbered by the expansive PS2 software library.

Look forward to further reports on the subject from SCEA"s E3 press conference tomorrow.
