E3 2011: Live blog of Ubisoft E3 2011 press event

We have walked a few blocks away from EA"s press conference and are now in the Los Angeles Theater for Ubisoft"s pre-E3 2011 press event. We will begin the live blog with constant updates shortly.

The presentation started with Ubisoft"s CEO (Joel McHale didn"t show up as host again) talking a bit about the publisher"s 25th anniversary this year before heading into the first game demo. It"s Rayman Origins, the plaformer action game that was first announced at E3 2010. The demo has a little salute to Tetris along with some exciting looking gameplay.

Next is Driver San Francisco, another game that was shown at E3 2010. It still looks like it will be an interesting driving action game.

Then comes the first big reveal: Far Cry 3.  The next title in the first person shooter series takes place in a tropical setting again as your character is thrown into a deep pool. Then we a fireflight at an enemy base. The game is due in 2012.

Gearbox Software"s Randy Pitchford is on stage announcing a new game take on the WWII genre: Brothers in Arms: Furious 4 is about a team of four US soldiers who in the cinematic trailer kick some Nazi ass. The game is due in 2012.

Next is yet another game that has been announced before; Ubisoft"s adaptation of the upcoming movie The Adventures of Tintin with Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson talking on film about making the game.

Next up is a live demo of Ghost Recon Future Soldier. This is live gameplay as the Ghosts invade some kind of tropical looking town. Yes the cloak suit is still there as is all of the tactical shooter goodness that makes this series memorable.

Next comes Trackmania 2 Canyon, a game that debuts at E3 2010. We see a trailer with tracks that were built by the Trackmania community, not by the development team. The game is due in September.

Next is Raving Rabbids: Alive and Kicking, a new game in the Rabbids series and the first to be made for Kinect. It looks like a fun party game. Rabbids are seen popping out of your own living room floor with the Kinect camera.

The next game is Just Dance 3, the next game in Ubisoft"s hit dance motion game series, due out in October. Ubisoft also showed off more of the previously announced music game Rocksmith, using an actual guitar to play. The game is also due to be released in October.

Ubisoft sticks with motion gaming with a video for Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2012.

Finally we get to see Assassin"s Creed Revelations, the next game in the (sort of) historical action game series. We get to see an impressive looking CGI trailer with the Assassin doing what he does best: killing people and looking cool doing it. The live demo shows Ezio using things like smoke to mask his attacks. We also see him fly on ziplines, battling guards and using a ship-mounted flamethrower to set fire to an entire fleet.

And that"s all from Ubisoft"s E3 2011 press event. Now its off to the final event of the night: Sony"s big E3 press conference with more details on the NGP.
