In 2009, developer Ace Team released its first game, Zeno Clash, a Source Engine-based PC first person shooter with some different fighting gameplay elements and a highly striking art design. The same developer teamed up with publisher Atlus to release an expanded version of Zeno Clash for the Xbox 360 console in 2010.
Today, as part of their E3 2012 press announcements, Atlus revealed it is teaming up again with Ace Team to release the sequel, Zeno Clash II. It features the original game"s character, Ghat, back again on his world of Zenozoik, but this time he can explore in a more open world environment rather than in linear levels.
Many of the same characters and creatures from the first game are scheduled to come back for the sequel, along with new creatures and other characters. The fighting game aspects have been refined and there"s also an RPG-like system that will give Ghat a way to " ... gain more strength, master defense, or improve in other areas."
Finally, Zeno Clash II will include a two player multiplayer mode as Ghat gets a friend, his sister Rimat, to join him in his adventures. You can check out the first trailer above. The game will be released in early 2013 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms.
