Joining the year"s large number of canceled conventions could be the 2020 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) according to multiple sources. Nothing official regarding this has come out of the event organizer Entertainment Software Association (ESA) just yet however, which had said just last week that it plans to go ahead with the show and was monitoring and evaluating the COVID-19 outbreak situation.
Multiple sources familiar with the ESA has confirmed to Ars Technica that the organization has decided to cancel the three-day event and that an official announcement is coming soon. Other figures from the gaming industry have also come forward with similar reports, with journalist Mike Futter adding that the cancelation news would be official by tomorrow morning. Kotaku"s Jason Schreier, on the other hand, claimed that ESA is still discussing the decision, but it should only be a matter of time before it is called off.
Even the publisher Devolver Digital took to Twitter to share a similar thought:
Cancel your E3 flights and hotels, y’all.

If E3 2020 does get pulled - or postponed à la GDC - due to coronavirus concerns, we should be seeing attending companies like Microsoft and Bethesda make their planned shows all digital affairs. Officially, the convention is still slated to take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center in June.
