At the annual Electronic Arts Studio Showcase EA unveiled a boat load of new games. Here are the list of the new games and what we know so far.
Fight Night: Champion
This is the next entry to the boxing series Fight Night. According to EA, this won"t be your typical yearly iteration type of update. According to Brian Hayes the game will feature 60-65 fighters and that the single player mode will ""Fight Night Champion will break the mold of what is expected in a single-player sports game. Players will be introduced to an entirely new way to step between the ropes and experience the drama, emotion, excitement and tragedy of world championship boxing."
Look for a release sometime in 2011 for PS3 and Xbox 360.
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
Brought to us from the newly created 38 Studios, the newly created single player RPG will " sets players on a heroic journey to unlock the mysteries of Amalur. Amalur is a magical world, filled with strange landscapes, exotic cities, colorful characters and terrifying creatures."
The game will get it"s formal introduction at comic-con this week-end and will be relased for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in the fall of 2011.
Darkspore
Judging from the title you"ve probably already guessed it. This is a new game coming to us from Maxis, the creators of Spore and Sims franchise. EA is describing the game as a "sci-fi action-RPG". The best way to describe this is as Spore meets Diablo.
The game will let three players travel several planets cooperatively and take down some baddies and level up your guys (ala Diablo Style). Like the original Spore game the creature creator is there, but this time you are not controlling your own creations. The customizable part of the game is where you place the various upgrades for your character (i"m presuming you are using the creature creator to add things onto your creature to make him more powerful). Check below for the teaser trailer.
Sims 3: Late Night
Yes, another expansion for the ever popular, all time best selling PC franchise The Sims craeted by Maxis. The twist in this one? You can party the night away in various club scenes with your Sims.
The game is set to be released for the PC and we are not too sure about a date yet. For more information, check out the trailer below.
Alice: Madness Returns
Out of all the game information to come out of the event this is the one I am looking most forward to as being a big Alice in Wonderland fan as a kid. Not much is known about the game yet other then a few screens shots, a teaser trailer and that it"s coming out some time in 2011 for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
EA Sports Active: NFL Training Camp
Here you have EA taking full advantage of it"s exclusive deal with the NFL. This title will use the Active 2.0 hear rate monitor as well as the Wii"s motion interface to lead gamers through NFL training camps. As a huge NFL fan, this looks pretty cool. This game will have more then 70 different drills to run though to improve your strength, power and conditioning.
