Development teams under Electronic Arts have been pumping out Star Wars games for quite a few years now, and today"s announcement of three new projects only continues the trend. Respawn Entertainment is now officially involved in making three more games set in a galaxy far, far away. Two of them are in-house, while the third is a publishing collaboration.
First up is an unsurprising project, with Respawn confirming it is currently developing a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, the hit third-person action-adventure title from 2019. Rumors say this entry is aiming for a late 2022 launch, though not even a name has come out of the studio just yet.
The second project is a first-person shooter under Respawn game director Peter Hirschmann. It"s unclear what era or kind of protagonist will this feature, but there is a good chance wall running is involved as usual. The development is just starting up so it will be a while before we get to see it in action unfortunately.
Lastly, and most surprisingly, Respawn is collaborating with the newly opened studio Bit Reactor for a Star Wars strategy game. Bit Reactor is helmed by Greg Foerstch, a strategy veteran who has previously had a part of Firaxis Games and has been involved in the XCOM series. There is a chance the project will be a turn-based strategy venture much like XCOM.
