Electronic Arts will still be going ahead with its EA Play presentation this year, but instead of the live stage events seen in previous years, the 2020 showcase will be fully digital. The event normally lands around E3 week, but even with that yearly event being canceled, EA"s schedule remains the same. EA Play Live will be kicking off on June 11, 2020 and streaming on the publisher"s website.
It"s unclear if EA plans to keep it a multi-day event this year too, perhaps replacing the physical element that offered demos of upcoming games to participants with a digital trial offer akin to Steam"s Game Festival events.
The behemoth publisher hasn"t given any hints as to what sort of announcements will EA Play 2020 carry, only saying to expect "world premieres, news and more." As for some possibilities, we could see what DICE is cooking up for the 2021 Battlefield release, while more Star Wars game announcements are also likely.
BioWare is currently working on revamping Anthem and developing a new Dragon Age title, so we could see more details about these ongoing projects. Criterion Games may also give a look at a new Need for Speed entry, as the studio was given back the racing series" reins. Of course, EA Sports games will be given a lot of attention during the event too.
