EA wants you to feel lonely and monstrous with its upcoming Sea of Solitude

Following the incredible critical success of A Way Out last year, EA is doubling down on its EA Originals program to promote indie titles. At the company"s EA Play 2018 keynote today, it showed off Sea of Solitude, an indie title by German studio Jo-Mei Games.

The game follows the journey of Kay, who suffers from depression and anger as a result of her loneliness. As the trailer suggests, "when humans get too lonely they turn into monsters" and the game wants you to feel her pain in an epic saga of empathy and compassion. The game"s devs want you to figure out how to bring back someone so close to the brink of darkness.

The trailer EA showed on stage today looks both harrowing and captivating. The game will be released sometime in early 2019.
