EE extends unlimited data offer for customers in the NHS

The UK mobile carrier, EE, has announced that NHS workers will be able to continue receiving unlimited data until January 31, 2021, due to local lockdowns coming into force across the country again. EE began offering NHS staff unlimited mobile data back in April after the nationwide lockdown came into force; that offer was due to expire on October 9 before today’s extension was announced.

According to EE, the earlier offer was picked up by more than 270,000 NHS staff. For those NHS workers who signed up in April, those who continue to benefit through to January could have saved up to £250. The free data is useful to overstretched NHS staff who may need to keep in touch with family and dependents who they’re separated from for extended periods.

Commenting on the extended offer, Marc Allera, CEO of BT’s Consumer Division, said:

“We want to show our continued support to NHS staff as pressures of Covid-19 remain. Extending our unlimited data offer will help NHS workers as they can easily keep in touch with friends and family, without worrying about their data. Along with the 20% discount we already provide, this is a thank you for NHS staff who work so hard to look after us all.”

To take advantage of the offer, you’ll need to register online with a valid NHS e-mail address. After completing the sign-up, you should receive a text message confirming that the unlimited data has been applied to your account until January 31, 2021.
