If you"re on the lookout for an affordable mobile plan in the UK that includes a hefty chunk of data, you may be interested in a deal available from EE, the UK"s largest network operator.
EE is currently offering one of its Extra SIM-only plans, with "double speed 4G", with a significant discount, including:
- 16GB of 4G data
- Unlimited minutes
- Unlimited text messages
The plan additionally offers the ability to use your minutes and texts within the EU, and also includes tethering, so you can connect your tablet, notebook or other handsets to your phone and use it as a mobile hotspot.
That would usually set you back £34.99 a month, but until April 14, EE is offering that plan for just £19.99 a month, on a 12-month SIM-only contract. If you"re an existing EE customer, you could save even more - if you add that plan to your account as an additional line, the price will fall further, to just £16.49 a month.
To put that pricing into context, O2 is currently offering a similar deal for £29 a month, although it says that it "doesn"t recommend using your phone as a personal hotspot", but states you may do so "on a one-off basis".
Meanwhile, Vodafone is offering 20GB of data with unlimited texts and minutes for £24 a month, down from £40 a month, which also includes tethering, and a free 12-month subscription to NOW TV, Sky Sports Mobile TV or Spotify.
Those who don"t want to worry about data limits might want to consider Three"s All-you-can-eat SIM-only plan, which includes unlimited data, minutes and texts for £30 a month, including up to 30GB of tethered usage. Three also allows its customers to use their allowances - including data - in 18 countries, such as France, Spain, Australia and the US.
