The full specifications of the Asus EeeKeyboard PC have now been released and have revealed the battery life to be only 4 hours. The short battery life may disappoint potential buyers since the EeeKeyboard was announced back in January 2009.
The keyboard is designed to be used around the house and more specifically in a media entertainment environment. Asus has touted the ability of the device to stream 720p video up to a 5 metre range. It will also feature a 5" 800x480 multi-touch screen and run Windows XP Home as its operating system.
The specifications for the EeeKeyboard PC include:
- Intel Atom N270
- 1GB DDR2 on-board memory
- 16/32GB SSD storage
- 802.11 b/g/n @ 2.4GHz & Bluetooth v2.1
- LAN 10/100/100Mbps
- USB 2.0 x3
- HDMI out x1 & VGA x1
- 1.1kg (2.4lb)
The EeeKeyboard uses Ultra-wideband (UWB) technology to stream data which Asus says brings higher data transfer rates. Asus has now officially launched the EeeKeyboard PC but there has still been no confirmation of price or release date although it is listed on Amazon in the U.S. for $599.
